THE ORDINARY CAN
WHEN YOU LEARN TO PAY ATTENTION
Mindfulness is a non-judgemental awareness, a direct knowing of what is going on inside and outside ourselves, moment by moment. It is inhabiting the present moment, with a curious, interested and gentle attitude. Mindfulness is realising that you have a limitless capacity to develop and refine your mind and therefore improve your performance.
Mindfulness is not a religion, nor is its aim to empty the mind or to become relaxed and chilled.
Why to practice
Research has proven that the brain is constantly changing and adapting as a result of experience.
What we do, think and what we pay attention to can modify the structure and functioning of the brain.
Practising Mindfulness can result in increased optimism, happiness and emotional intelligence. With the reduction of stress and anxiety levels, you might find yourself living with greater satisfaction and contentment.
Learning Mindfulness is like going to the gym, but instead of developing muscles, we exercise and develop the brain. Through the direct experience of physical sensations and the investigation of thoughts and emotions, we can transform the way in which we relate to daily events.
With regular practice we learn to notice patterns of behaviour before they "hijack" us and make us act on autopilot.
Our courses derive from the Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) program, developed by the University of Oxford.
We have programs that suit the general public and organisations, targeting, stress reduction, happiness, performance and career.
We offer taster sessions, drop-in classes, 6 or 8-weeks programs, bespoke Mindfulness training, half day workshops, mindfulness-based coaching, conference talks and workshops.
Programs that combine guided meditation practices and Cognitive Therapy exercises to help you respond more skillfully to day-to-day challenges. Mindfulness is proven to reduce the symptoms of stress, anxiety, and dissatisfaction, enabling your capacity to show up fully in life.
Classes can be individual or in groups, in person or online. We offer taster sessions, drop-in classes, 6 or 8-weeks programs.
Workplace Mindfulness Training is a robust standardised mindfulness programme which was adapted to meet the challenges of the modern day workplace. It is an evidence informed approach which has been evaluated, researched and refined over 4 years.
We typically provide mindfulness training for groups in 4, 6 or 8-weeks, but we also offer talks and taster sessions.
In the search of a more balanced, productive and happier life, while enjoying a successful and varied career in an IT company, Thais Requito attended many courses and retreats around the world for over one decade. Her life started to change when she came to know about Mindfulness and realised that practising it impacted her ability to relate to people and made her feel more productive, healthier and happier.
